We have been to Marrakesh many times and even lived there for an extended period of time. Rich in culture & experiences. From the minute you get off the plane, you can smell the city...spices! Cool breezes in the evenings, music...food. The Moroccan people are kind and welcoming (they can also be overwhelming in the Souks but that is part of the adventure). Moroccans have an excellent work ethic and their service level is amazing! A truly beautiful window into a completely different culture. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Getting around Marrakesh is quite easy, although make sure you know the average to pay or you will easily get ripped off. Be wary of people who offer to help take you somewhere or show you where something is... they will almost always expect you to give them money. This is the most frustrating part of being in Marrakesh. We still fall for it at least once every time we are there :) The city has had quite a transformation over the last 12-15 years. They painted Marrakesh & it looks EPIC! Such a great improvement. They have also introduced ICED MOROCCAN TEA and it is a game-changer.

The medina was a really busy, bustling place & a bit like a halfway point to being in India. As there are so many small streets, alleys it can be quite difficult to get your bearings/find your way around. This was so even after we'd had a really good guided tour around the medina, on the afternoon that we arrived.
There are many interesting places to see in the city, but the best part was just wandering around getting a feel for the bustling medina, its shops & markets.
There are many good restaurants @ very reasonable prices, although being an Islamic country, there weren't many places selling alcohol.
Beyond suggesting a guided tour by a local to get a feel for the place, I'd also highly recommend a day walking tour of the Atlas mountains to get a feel for how people live outside the big city.

Incredible city with lots of activities to do. Walking trough the souks and bargaining is a very cool experience. I highly recommend visiting the sahara desert, ouzoud falls and going horse riding. The people are very genuine and nice. We loved our time here.

The old part of Marrakech is lovely with lots to see such as Bahia Palace, El Badia Palace, Saadian Tombs, the various Souks. Restaurants were great value for money. I also went on a couple of excursions to the Atlas Mountains and to the port city of Essaouira. The only downside is that it in the old town its difficult to find a place that serves alcohol.

A nice place if you like the hustle and bustle and don't mind having bikes, scooters, and donkeys all coming towards you at all times. People in Marrakech drive like maniacs, there is no transit control and pedestrian areas are no existent so you walk in small alleyways with all the mentioned, it does get a bit stressful but that's their custom. Also, for women wear modestly to avoid unwanted attention from men who will not be afraid to overstep, so if you do not want to have a bad experience dress modestly, long dresses and loose-fitted clothes are a must to visit this place. Another thing is that shopping will be a tiresome experience, in every shop within the souk you will have to hagle and hagle and hagle, by the 3rd shop you will be drained! There is no point in checking in one place and then another, if you find something buy it and hagle otherwise is unlikely to find it somewhere else for a different price. They start with very high prices like for a T-shirt for men they started at 150 dirams, offered 50, they said 130, offered 55 etc. ended buying for 80 = £6. Bangels started at 150 each and ended up paying 60 for 2. There are a handful of shops with fix prices so these are a welcome break.
Be very wise and know that to them you are a walking EUR, Dollar and Pound sign. To make the most of your money do exchange a little bit at the airport just in case but go to the ALI hotel for the best rate in the city, go there early to avoid queueing.
The room with fireplace was beautiful, the whole riad and location are perfect, you should ask them for dinner because they made us the best food during our trip in Morocco, we regret that we didn't order it every day (but we ordered it twice and every time it was AMAZING, I think 5 stars hotel can't make so delicious food) - if you want to try authentic and delicious Moroccan food don't look in the restaurants in Medina, ask them about the dinner, and they can even prepare you what you want. The staff is amazing !
Very nice location! In a heart of Medina. Short distance to Best restaurants in Marrakech. But the main advantage of the hotel is it's stuff. Especially Yusuf. He was so nice to us and so helpful I can't describe. Yusuf explained us all the best options about restaurants and tours. He brought us tea and prepared there best places to seat on the rooftop and watch for sunset. His Hospitality was amazing. Probably because he is from nomad family. If we will come back to Marrakesh again it will be because of that guy.
SUPER NICE host Mohamed who absolutely stole the show with his kindness, helpfulness, maneuvers and guitar. ;-)
ULTRA CLEAN - bedsheets and towels were changed although only 2 days stay what is not standard even in 5 stars hotels!
The best mint tea in Marrakesh
Gorgeous rooftop with comfy sofas and nice tables for breakfasts - during the stay there were measurements for future jacuzzi
Fresh & delicious breakfasts made by nice, modest ladies (compliments and regards!)
The riad was very clean, with beautiful traditional Moroccan decoration and a very nice vibe. The room was big, with comfortable beds and a good shower. The breakfast was very fulfilling and tasty. Samir was very helpful and efficient, he organized our airport pickup at a very reasonable cost, helped us with basic things like SIM card, money exchange on our first day in Morocco. We had a great stay in Marrakesh and will definitely choose this riad if we are back.
Lovely riad in a great location. The rooms are clean and well kept. Lots of great tips and advices from the hosts to best experience Marrakesh. Hosts are very approachable and accommodating. They shared many travel stories with us. This was our favorite riad we stayed at during our 2 weeks backpack trip throughout Morocco.
thank you Chaimae for your advice and recommendation.
see you soon
I could say it is a perfect place to stay close to medina. The staff and especially the manager was perfect and very helpful. The value for money is good for Marrakesh. Breakfast typical for Morocco (continental version). But we can compare this riad to other accommodation in different Moroccan cities (Fes, Chefchaufen, Rabat, Dades, Oalidia) and I cannot give the top ratiing.
A very warm welcome. very friendly staff and owner.
The grounds and swimming pool are beautiful, taken care off by a team of gardeners who also anticipate guest's needs ... as I was on a lounger, one gardener brought over a cushion for my head to rest on. This is the sort of service you get in 5 star hotels.
The breakfast was particularly good.
Value for money, the food was good and choices were wide, several restaurants on premises, the aqua park was the reason for our stay. The room was recently remade and looked nice. The overall price to value was excellent, considering our stay was for the park with all inclusive hotel.
Definitely our best experience in Morocco. Hassan and Hadoud always helped us with information or accompanying to the taxi when left. they were amazing and our stay was a pleasure. The hotel has a design that inspires and you can spend the whole day taking photos inside.
The staff made the hotel the best part of my stay in Morocco, we stayed at a “5 star” for 6 days and only two days to be closer to the centre at Tempoo honestly even though Tempoo has less facilities and is slightly on the old side the experience was the best
The central location was so ideal, and it was incredible to be so close to the main Square and right in the city! It was also just a fun atmosphere for being in Morocco the first time and the open air hotel, and all of the rooms just had a very good vibe!
A beautiful resort hotel away from the hustle and bustle of marrkech city.
Stayed for 3 nights over the December Christmas week all inclusive. Excellent service and entertainment at the hotel.
Pros- very picturesque, clean and friendly.
Nice pool area.

Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The meals were great and the facilities too! Nothing was too much for the staff. I have lodged in 5 star hotels in the past. This hotel was at par with the other hotels.
I had an excellent experience in staying at the Hotel Lawrence d'Arabie, I will definitely recommend it to anybody who's looking for an affordable but 5 stars accommodation in the centre of Marrakech
Great stay. Small intimate clean room. Quieter part of the Medina. Bader The hotel manager was exceptionally warm and accommodating. Was nice way to end a 3 week trip of Morocco.
This is the third time I have stayed at the hotel, and I will definitely be back. The rooms are huge, the food is good for an all inclusive and the staff are very friendly.
Architecture and interior are pretty as pictures. Water quality is not super good. It was different from 5 start hotel in same area. Same for service level. Could be better.
